Parts Advisor - Sandyford

Frank Keane Volkswagen Sandyford are currently seeking a Parts Advisor to join our growing aftersales team. 

This is an exciting role in a fast paced, state of the art dealership offering a great package and career path in one of Irelands biggest dealerships. 

Our parts department currently plays an integral role in the running of our Aftersales Operations within our state of the art workshop facilities, whilst also serving a large number of reputable Trade and Retail Customers throughout the greater Dublin area.


Hours of work: Monday – Friday. 8.30am - 5.30PM (Negotiable) 

Remuneration: Base Pay (Depending on experience) + Bonus package.

Training: Inhouse and manufacture training path. 


Reporting to the Parts Manager, key responsibilities will include:

  • Ordering, organizing, and maintaining of all Parts stock within the Dealership.
  • Have the ability to maintain and adhere to top quality operating procedures and Dealership rules and regulations.
  • To accurately identify, locate and select vehicle parts for both Trade and Retail Customers, as well as handling and managing the in-house Workshop Counter.
  • To carry out pre-picks for future workshop bookings and to identify if parts will need to be pre-ordered in advance of a vehicle arriving to the workshop.
  • To possess an excellent and polite telephone manner when speaking with both external and Trade Customers, while also displaying product knowledge and interpreting the needs of the Customer to ensure only accurate parts are being sold.
  • To manage walk-in Trade and Retail Customers to identify their needs, locate and supply required parts. Adhering to general Department housekeeping such as stock checking, stock replenishment, and ensuring any unused parts are stocked away correctly.

Requirements/Desirables:

Fluency in English is essential .

  • Previous motor industry experience.
  • Immaculate attention to detail .
  • Knowledge/experience within the Motor Trade would be a distinct advantage.
  • Ability to use computer software systems ( parts catalogues, stock management systems ,Excel )
  • Ideal candidate will be friendly, have a customer focused disposition and will work well within a fast-paced team and environment.

Workshop Manager, Sandyford

Job Summary:

The Workshop Controller is responsible for overseeing the efficient workflow of the workshop, ensuring the timely and effective completion of all repairs and services. You will coordinate technicians, manage workload distribution, and maintain the highest standards of customer service in line with Frank Keane Volkswagen's brand values.


Key Responsibilities:

Workforce Management:

  • Allocate work to technicians based on skills and experience, ensuring an even distribution of tasks and timely completion
  • Monitor technician productivity and efficiency, ensuring repair standards are met
  • Provide guidance and support to the workshop team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment

Workshop Operations:

  • Ensure the workshop operates in accordance with Volkswagen's health and safety standards
  • Monitor and manage the workflow, ensuring optimal use of resources and minimal downtime
  • Coordinate repairs, services, and diagnostics, ensuring that work is completed within agreed timeframes

Customer Service:

  • Liaise with the Service Advisors to ensure customers are kept informed about the progress of their vehicle
  • Assist with resolving technical and service-related customer queries in a professional and timely manner
  • Ensure that quality control processes are followed for all vehicles serviced or repaired

Technical Expertise:

  • Provide technical support to technicians on complex repair issues
  • Ensure that diagnostic equipment is used effectively and kept in good condition
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest Volkswagen technical bulletins, service manuals, and industry trends

Administration & Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate records of repairs, diagnostics, and parts used
  • Ensure all job cards and associated paperwork are completed in a timely and accurate manner
  • Report on workshop performance metrics such as technician efficiency, productivity, and job completed on times

Inventory & Parts Management:

  • Collaborate with the parts department to ensure timely availability of parts
  • Monitor stock levels and place orders as needed for workshop supplies


Required Skills & Experience:

  • Previous experience as a Workshop Controller, ideally within a Volkswagen dealership or a similar automotive environment
  • Strong technical knowledge of vehicle repairs, diagnostics, warranty processes and maintenance, preferably with Volkswagen vehicles
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with customers, technicians, and service advisors.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Proficiency in workshop management systems and relevant diagnostic tools

Qualifications:

  • Qualified Technician
  • Volkswagen certification or knowledge of Volkswagen systems would be an advantage


Additional Requirements:

  • A valid driving license
  • Flexibility to work some weekends or additional hours during peak times

Qualified Motor Technicians, Sandyford

Frank Keane Volkswagen are currently looking for ambitious and career orientated individuals to work in our state of the art Volkswagen dealership. Future-proof  yourself in the motor trade as the role we are advertising is for ideally someone looking to progress their career through training and development in a fast paced modern dealership. We are actively looking to fast track our technicians through training and High Voltage training to provide our customers with a standard of work 2nd to none. 


The Role

The ideal candidates will be based in our  Liffey Valley dealership, experienced in all aspects of vehicle servicing and diagnostics and be capable of producing high quality work in a busy environment.  Responsibilities include

  • Performing work as outlined on the job card with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and Volkswagen standards.
  • Communicating with parts department to obtain needed parts, inform workshop manager if vehicle is awaiting parts and pursue special order of parts if necessary.
  • Diagnosing cause of any malfunction and perform repair after confirming authorization by customer.
  • Saving and tagging any and all parts if the job is under warranty or if requested by customer.
  • Examining the vehicle and performing vehicle health checks to determine if additional safety or service work is required.
  • Notifying service advisors immediately if additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed, or if repairs can not be completed within the time promised.
  • Road-testing vehicles to spot check work performed.
  • Keeping abreast of Volkswagen technical bulletins and attend factory sponsored training classes.
  • Maintaining a clean and neat workspace and adhering to all company policies, procedures and safety standards


Requirements

  • Qualified technician, ideally working with a Volkswagen Group brand, however not completely necessary.
  • Ability to clearly complete job card write ups with a thorough understanding of the requirements of factory standards for warranty write-ups.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to identify and explain additional work required to service advisors or customers as required.
  • Previous experience on engine/transmission repairs/rebuild/replacement would be an advantage.
  • Full valid Drivers licence is required for this role.

Stock Presentation Coordinator, Liffey Valley

We are seeking a Stock Presentation Coordinator to assist our Sales Team in our Volkswagen Dealership in Liffey Valley. Reporting to the Head of Sales this is an exciting and challenging role at a time when Volkswagen is bringing many new and ground-breaking models to the Irish market. 

The ideal candidate will have a passion for Volkswagen cars and a willingness to learn from a very experienced and process-driven team of sales professionals. 

 

Key Objectives:

  • Ensuring all of our cars are in the right places at the right times will be one of the key initial responsibilities of the Stock Presentation Coordinator.
  • Being responsible for our online presence for used cars in stock. This includes liaising with our Vehicle Preparation Team to ensure stock vehicles are progressing through our preparation process so that they can be available to photograph for our online sales channels.
  • Adding photographs and detailed descriptions of all used cars to our online sales channels.
  • Ad-hoc duties as instructed by the Sales Controller and Management Team including collection and delivery of stock vehicles and some administrative duties relating to vehicle paperwork.


 Critical Skills:

  • Full clean Irish driving licence.
  • Excellent attention to detail.

Apprentice Motor Technicians - 1st, 2nd & 3rd Years, Sandyford

Frank Keane Volkswagen are looking to recruit an apprentice automotive technician (mechanic) to join our state of the art Volkswagen service facilities in Sandyford, South Dublin. This application is open to 1st , 2nd & 3rd year apprentices. 

Job Summary: As an Apprentice Mechanic, you will be involved in a comprehensive training program designed to equip you with the skills and knowledge required to become a proficient automotive technician. Under the guidance of experienced mechanics, you will learn to diagnose, repair, and maintain various types of vehicles. This position offers hands-on experience in a dynamic automotive repair environment alongside VW manufacture training and the Solas apprenticeship program. 

Key Responsibilities:

Learning and Development:

  • Participate actively in training sessions and on-the-job learning opportunities.
  • Acquire knowledge of automotive systems, including engines, transmissions, brakes, steering, suspension, and electrical components.
